Job Title: Breakfast Host/Hostess - Company: Location: Birmingham, AL Description: Breakfast Host To ensure that all outlined requirements are completed correctly within the designated time period while not sacrificing guest service Greet all guests and/or visitors with a smiling, friendly demeanor The shift checklist is required to be read and completed correctly within the time period of the scheduled shift Handle guest complaints efficiently and courteously Always be Selling Be knowledgeable about scheduled groups and meetings Arrive 10 minutes prior to your shift, in uniform, ready to go. Being late and/or calling off for a shift is NOT an option! You are required to wash, dry clean, and or iron your uniform as needed. Excessive jewelry, make up, and/or perfume are unacceptable Ability to work 6+ hours with no break; depending on your shift you may be working alone and not able to leave the area Complete Breakfast Daily Checklist Ensure that the lobby television is either on a News or Weather station and that the volume is on mute Ensure that oven is warming and chaffer has hot water and is also warming Date label all open boxes Prepare trays of muffins, danish, and other non-sweet breads Place cereal carousel and oatmeal basket out on serving counter Place hot items in the oven Replenish coffee and condiments Fill fresh cut fruit bowl Fill milk containers, place on bar near juice machine and cereal Place yogurt in bowl filled with ice Place two pitchers of ice water next to juice machine Place a coffee urn filled with hot water near cereals Replenish all condiments Place hot items in chaffer Prepare sinks for usage. Greet guests as they enter the breakfast area Clean spills IMMEDIATELY Clean table as each guest leaves Re-stock bar as needed Re-stock coffee and coffee condiments as needed Keep an eye on trash receptacles. Change these as needed throughout the morning Flush the juice machine Remove all food and serving pieces from the breakfast bar Clear each breakfast counter completely to clean and sanitize. Make certain no crumbs, dust, sticky, or greasy residue is left behind Clean the back splash and pictures behind the breakfast counters Clean the front and inside of the cabinet doors in the breakfast area and in the kitchen. Clean and polish the juice machine, including the drain and back splash Lock the juice machine prior to leaving your shift Empty the crumbs from the toaster, clean, and polish Clean and polish all parts of the chafer Clean and polish the inside and the outside of the microwave Wash all plates, bowls, utensils, AND dry them, before placing them back in the breakfast area Make certain no greasy or cloudy residue is left on any of the serving pieces Stock the breakfast bar neatly and with attention to detail Sweep, with a broom the entire breakfast area, the kitchen, and kitchen pantry Clean the disposal drain cover Move ALL the chairs and tables AWAY from their assigned spot to vacuum under them. Every surface of the breakfast area must be vacuumed. Use a broom to sweep the corners if needed prior to vacuuming Make sure there are no food or crumb particles in the chairs Clean the four legs of each table Remove all trash Make sure that no food items or paper goods are left on floor. Everything must be placed on shelves on pantry Clock Out, ON TIME Non-Smoking Facility!!
