ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS 1. Greets restaurant guests in a friendly and courteous manner. 2. Arranges for prompt seating of guests in order of arrival or availability of seating accommodations. 3. Quotes accurate waiting times, and seats guests when tables are available. 4. Assists in identifying casino comps, hotel and VIP guests for seating; communicates with comp authorizer (signer) regarding any comp charges by the compee. 5. Maintains cleanliness of menus. 6. Familiarizes self with, and adheres to, the principles of FOCUS and the interactive skills. 7. Familiarizes self with hotel/casino so that accurate directions can be given to guests who inquire. 8. Accepts responsibility for cash register bankroll, all cash received, charge card and complimentary receipts. 9. Maintains the appropriate supplies needed for the proper performance of duties. 10. Prepares multiple reports. 11. Responds to telephone calls. 12. Uses computerized cash register. 13. Records and pays out tips to Wait Staff when the tips are charged to credit cards and guest rooms. EDUCATION: High school graduate or equivalent preferred EXPERIENCE: Previous experience as a cashier and/or host preferred Previous experience with accounting or heavy math preferred ABILITIES: 1. Mobility to move quickly and easily around restaurants for an 8 hour shift 2. Literate and fluent in English 3. Above average communication skills 4. Accurate in the handling of money 5.
