Job Title: Hotel Breakfast Host/Cook (Sat & Sun 6:30-11:30am) Company: Location: Kansas City, KS Description: Hello, We are looking for a breakfast host for our hotel on Saturday and Sunday mornings from 6:30am- 11:30am. (Occasionally, we may ask you to come in at 6:00 if we have a request from a large group to have breakfast available early.) This is for a hotel that offers a Hot Breakfast Buffet for our guests. You will also be responsible for preparing and cooking hot food items such as: Biscuits & Gravy, Sausage, Scrambled Eggs, & French Toast. Must be fluent in English. BASIC FUNCTION: Under general supervision, prepares the Quikstart® Breakfast for guests following Company policies and procedures. Maintains the breakfast / lobby area in a clean and neat manner, and assists guests with breakfast service (i.e., serving coffee, clearing trays, etc.) Greets guests, and answers questions to maintain high levels of service. JOB DUTIES: 1. Provides courteous, friendly guest service by responding promptly and efficiently to inquiries, requests and complaints. 2. Sets up and maintains breakfast by stocking the serving areas before the serving hours: includes, but not limited to, making coffee, mixing juice, and presenting food in a nice manner. 3. During breakfast serving hours, maintains serving areas by restocking as needed; cleans counters and tables as needed. Pours coffee and greets / interacts with guests by engaging in conversation. 4. After serving hours, breaks down the serving line: i.e., refrigerates items as necessary; washes all coffee pots; cleans all counters / tables; vacuums carpet, etc. 5. Conducts inventory of all food and service items in order to maintain proper serving levels. Will be responsible for putting items away in the approved locations after our food is delievered on Sunday. 6. Completes special weekly cleaning duties: i.e., refrigerators, storage areas, cabinets, juice machine, etc. 7. Monitors guests' satisfaction of the breakfast, and informs General Manager of special comments made by guests. 8. Complies with hotel's safety / security rules and instructions in performing work efficiently while protecting self, fellow workers and the hotel. 9. Performs other duties as required or assigned. GENERAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY: Requires ability to take written and verbal direction in English and speak English clearly. Requires ability to communicate in a friendly manner with guests in order to create a warm, comfortable, relaxing environment. Requires knowledge of hotel accommodations, the community and breakfast hours.
