Job Title: General Maintenance Engineer Company: Starwood Location: Chandler, AZ Description: The Engineer is responsible for performing general repairs in and around the hotel. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, performing general repairs and services in all maintenance related disciplines, including: HVAC and refrigeration,mechanics, plumbing, minor electrical, finish work, etc. In this job, you will prioritize work orders through urgent requests, respond to guest room calls as required, and complete any and all assigned preventative maintenance procedures. The ideal Mid-Level General Maintenance Engineer will be responsible primarily for general maintenance and repairs in guest rooms, meeting space, and front of the house areas. Guest room and public area entry-level preventative maintenance are included. A General Maintenance Engineer will also perform some repairs on mechanical, electrical, kitchen, and laundry equipment, requiring some skills and experience in these areas. Responsibilities also include daily readings of the utility meters around the building, walking the entire property inside and outside to find and replace burnt lights. Basic electrical skills needed to be able to replace a bad ballast or burnt socket. Position also requires guest interactions with regards to guest service calls. Must be guest friendly, service oriented, and able to effectively communicate with our guests. Basic mechanical and plumbing skills are also required. Employee must be able to learn to troubleshoot and repair hotel systems and equipment such as entry door locks, TV's and electronic safes.
