Job Title: Fine Dining Maitre'D Company: Mountain View Grand Resort & Spa Location: Whitefield, NH Description: The Maitre'D oversees the dining experience of all patrons, ensuring guest satisfaction in menu descriptions, wine choices and daily specials. The Maitre'D expedites orders in a timely fashion and coordinates with the servers to ensure prompt, accurate delivery of food and beverage items. The Maitre'D is responsible for providing the ambiance desired and laying the foundation for an enjoyable dining experience. Guests must feel welcome, comfortable, and well attended to at all times. Approach all encounters with guests and employees in a friendly, service oriented manner. Maintain regular attendance in compliance with MVG standards, as required by scheduling which will vary according to the needs of the hotel. Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which include wearing the proper uniform and nametag when working. Comply at all times with MVG standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations. Meet, greet and seat the guests, and visit during meal. Act as liaison between servers and guests. Take reservations for small and large parties occasionally helping guests with fixed menus with supervisor approval. Oversee and assist daily opening, closing and cleaning duties within corporate SOP format, and requisition necessary supplies for same. Present, open and critique wines and cognacs. Oversee guests' selection and ensure proper placement and distribution. Marginal: Enter guest selections into computer on occasion. Help keep restaurant and kitchen area clean. Be aware of and suggest local entertainment, attractions, etc. Other duties as required.
