Description:

Complete closing duties, including restocking items, turning off lights, etc. Present physical and accurate check to guest and process payment. Follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures; report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to manager; and complete safety training and certifications. Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional, maintain confidentiality of proprietary information, and protect company assets. Welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards, anticipate and address guests` service needs, assist individuals with disabilities, and thank guests with genuine appreciation. Speak with others using clear and professional language. Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others, support team to reach common goals, and listen and respond appropriately to the concerns of other employees. 1. Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies/service procedures/standards. 2. Maintain complete knowledge of correct maintenance and use of equipment. Use equipment only as intended. 3. Anticipate guests? needs, respond promptly and acknowledge all guests, however busy and whatever time of day. 4. Maintain positive guest relations at all times. 5. Be familiar with all Hotel services/features and local attractions/activities to respond to guest inquiries accurately. 6. Resolve guest complaints, ensuring guest satisfaction. 7. Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation and organization of assigned work areas. 8. Maintain complete knowledge of all liquor brands, beers and non-alcoholic selections available in Room Service. 9. Maintain knowledge of the particular characteristics and description of every wine/champagne by the glass and major wines on the wine list. 10. Maintain complete knowledge of designated glassware and garnishes for drinks. 11. Maintain complete knowledge of all menu items, preparation method, ingredients, sauces, preparation time, garnishes, presentation and prices. 12. Maintain complete knowledge of guest room layout, locations and room numbers/names. 13. Complete opening side duties as assigned: a) Check quality and amount of all Room Service stock and supplies using checklist. b) Fold/stack Room Service napkins. c) Requisition all necessary supplies and transport from storeroom to Room Service. d) Set tables and trays. e) Set up all condiments (butter, jellies, syrups, juices) and beverages (alcoholic and non-alcoholic). f) Ensure a sufficient supply of all silverware, glassware and chinaware for service. g) Prepare all cold food items (cereals, fruits, salads). h) Check cleanliness and condition of all equipment for use in Room Service area, rectify any deficiencies. i) Ensure all flowers and decorative items are fresh for guest use. 17. Retrieve all food orders from kitchen and place on table/tray. 18. Retrieve all alcoholic beverage items from bar and place on table/tray in accordance with the departmental standards. 19. Transport tables/trays from Room Service area to guest rooms, ensuring all standards of food presentation are maintained and that no spillage occurs. 20. Enter the guest room and place the table/tray by following the established departmental procedures. 21. Serve the food items and beverages to the guest. 22. Open and serve wine/champagne bottles. 23. Present check to guest for signature/payment. Adhere to all payment procedures established by Accounting. 24. Set up and deliver amenities to designated rooms. 25. Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation and organization of all service areas, guest rooms and guest corridors. 26. Transport all tables/trays from guest rooms to Room Service area as assigned. 27. Clean and reset tables/trays, maintaining sufficient supply in the Room Service area. 28. Collect and report tips at the end of the assigned shift. 29. Complete closing side duties: a) Properly store all reusable goods. b) Breakdown all goods. c) Clean all equipment as assigned in the side duties. d) Restock items for next service. e) Remove all dirty linen; fold napkins. f) Marry and stock all condiments. g) Reset tables/trays. 30. Complete all closing reports as assigned. 31. AM - Set up and deliver door knob orders. 32. PM - Collect door knob menus from guest rooms. 33. Document maintenance needs on work orders and submit to Manager. SECONDARY JOB FUNCTIONS 1. Relieve Order Taker/Cashier as assigned. 2. Take guest orders and record. 3. Utilize suggestive/up-selling techniques when taking orders. 4. Input order into system and ensure transmission of food orders is verified by Kitchen. 5. Legibly document orders when system is down and distribute food orders to Kitchen. 6. Process payment of guest checks according to Accounting procedures. 7. Obtain cigars/cigarettes when requested by guests. 8. Follow maintenance program and cleaning schedule. 9. Replace flowers in bud vases. 10. Polish silver trays and coffee pots. 11. Expedite on floor or in Kitchen as assigned. 12. Complete office paperwork (filing). 13. Legibly document pertinent information in Room Service log book.
