Ability to become familiar with room service menu and preparation procedures. Ability to familiarize with wine and spirits menu, service and knowledge. Ability to follow directions. Must be able to get along with coworkers and work as a team. Job Title: ASST FOOD SERVER - ROOM SERVICE

Description:
It is the primary responsibility of the Assistant Food Server to assist the Food Servers. All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and MGM Grand policies, practices, and procedures.Specific Job Functions: Assists server in running deliveries, setting up hospitality and special event functions. Pre-sets all guest tables and tray orders. Anticipates guests' needs, responds promptly and acknowledges all guests, however busy and whatever the time of day. Responsible for working hot food pick-up station, pantry pick-up station, toast station, juice and beverage station, condiment station, final check station. Maintains fresh brewed coffee at all times, bread racks changed out daily to ensure freshness. Maintains cleanliness of Room Service area at all times. Keeps Room Service line area stocked with china, flatware, glassware, condiments etc. Sets up stations in Room Service with proper racks, linen, hampers and bus tubs. Responsible for obtaining daily supplies from the storeroom and kitchen area to ensure shelves are stocked with all required supplies. Stocks and maintains all equipment and food products in proper storerooms and Room Service holding areas. Checks hotel halls, corridors and other designated areas for any soiled items. Will locate, collect and return all tables and soiled linen to the Room Service breakdown area. All dirty Room Service debris returned to kitchen breakdown area for breakdown and washing. Cleans and restocks all usable condiments, salt and pepper shakers and sugar caddies to proper stations on set-up line. Clean and reset tables as they come out from Room Service breakdown area according to Room Service training manual. Practices and observes all safety duties and regulations. Performs other job related duties as assigned.
