The Holiday Inn Seattle at Renton Hotel is looking for a dynamic associate for the position of Room Attendant. Located minutes from SeaTac Airport, Downtown Seattle, Bellevue and Tacoma. Our prime location is close to Boeing, Paccar, FAA and many others! Major Function: To effectively take orders from guest over the telephone and, using aggressive selling techniques. Maintain accurate accounting procedures expected by the company. Answer the telephone within 3 rings, hospitably using good communication techniques. Check back with every guest regarding satisfaction of every meal. Prompt and courteous delivery of all room service orders, maintains positive room service image through all areas of guest contact and through cleanliness of work areas. Assist in service to the rooms by bussing guest corridors, picking up room service trays, trolleys and used amenities, stocking needed supplies in the service aisle and maintaining high sanitation standards. Duties and Responsibilities: 1. Report to work in uniform following all appearance standards. 2. Check VIP list - ensure recognition of a VIP person when he/she calls room service. 3. Answer the phone in a clear and courteous voice, using the prescribed way of answering room service calls, as described in the room service manual. 4. After taking an order, read it back to the guest in order to be sure it is correct. 5. Write down the orders clearly and legibly on the check and then post the check on the POS by following the prescribed method of operation. Make sure the check is then passed on to the server and kitchen as soon as appropriate, so order is prepared on time. 6. Have up-to-date information and knowledge of all menus in all the outlets and about different services offered throughout the hotel. 7. Be knowledgeable about alcoholic beverages and wines and sell wines to complement meals and increase the average check. 8. Be courteous to the guest and accommodate any request for items not listed on the room service menu, if possible. 9. Follow up on all orders with servers to ensure that each order is going on time. 10. Ensure that the house bank in your position is safely locked away during and at the end of the shift. Counted and balanced at end of shift. 11. Maintain excellent guest relations at all times and use suggestive selling methods. 12. Maintain the tray pick up sheet in conjunction with rotation chart for servers. 13. Ensure that all accounting procedures for room service are complete. 14. Work with reception and room service attendant to ensure accurate, prompt delivery of guest amenities and packages. 15. Honor all reasonable work-related requests made by a manager or supervisor, which may be outside normal job activities, to achieve complete guest satisfaction and service throughout the hotel. 16. Follow all standard procedures in serving the guest, as outlined in training manual and standards manual. 17. Promote and practice aggressive hospitality. 18. Complete all daily and weekly assigned side work. 19. Attend monthly and training meetings. 20. Practice and actively participate in team work. 21. Check corridors for trays when returning from delivering orders. 22. Clean and breakdown trays in dish area, watching for un-used and clean condiments, salt, pepper, and sugar and return them to room service area. 23. Insure oncoming shift has adequate supply of silverware, trays, napkins, condiments, sugar, salt and pepper, etc. 24. Be hospitable to both guests and co-workers; follow hotel policies. Set up the service aisle, ice bins, butter, jam, jelly, honey, cup and saucers, coffee pots, tea pots, water glasses, toaster, plates, creamers. 25. Keep the service aisle clean at all times and ensure that the aisle is stocked in accordance with the aisle par checklist. 26. Take periodic trips to the guest corridors for tray pickup and ensure proper breakdown of trays at the stewarding area. 27. Collect the necessary supplies from the storeroom on a daily basis, collect the necessary linen from the laundry and prepare the napkins as per prescribed procedure.
