CUSTODIAN/FOOD TRUCK DRIVER
TITLE: Food Truck Driver - means personnel that under general supervision, load and drive a food truck from one school to another. Checking in delivery trucks and putting away stock.
This position does not require a CDL.
Custodian II - means personnel employed to keep building clean and free of refuse, to act as a watchman or groundman.
QUALIFICATIONS: Must be able to understand written or verbal instructions. High school or its equivalent (GED) is required. Must pass the WV State Competency Test for Custodian; must have an up-to-date food handler's card. Must have the ability to drive a standard vehicle.
REPORTS TO: Food Service Supervisor, Superintendent or designee
JOB GOALS: To deliver food to county schools, maintain the cleanliness of an assigned area.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Performs duties efficiently and productively.
- Drive truck for the transporting of food supplies and materials from one school to another or anywhere in or out of the county as deemed necessary by the administration.
- Maintain general maintenance and cleanliness of truck.
- Maintain general maintenance and cleanliness of transport carts.
- Responsible for getting supplies out of warehouse and/or freezers/coolers and delivering them to schools as needed.
- Daily cleans, sweeps, dusts, mop and buffs all areas of the building assigned.
- Daily cleans and sanitizes all plumbing fixtures and drinking fountains.
- Daily cleans unusual spills on demand
- Daily removes all waste and trash from the building and prepares it for proper disposal.
- Sweeps sidewalks and removes debris from grounds as required.
- Cleans and maintains grounds for proper appearance and safety, including cutting grass and removing snow, when necessary, etc.
- Weekly inspection and cleaning of kitchen equipment.
- Insures that unnecessary lights are turned off to conserve electricity.
- Insures that the building is securely locked.
- Follows county policy and procedures.
- Performs other related duties assigned by supervisor.
- Must be able to lift at least 50 lb. cases.
- Must be able to climb ladders, stairs.
- Must be able to kneel, bend, and reach.
- Reports immediately to the supervisor any damage to school property.
- Must be able to complete any paperwork efficiently and on time.
- Maintains and/or upgrades skills.
- Participates in required in-service training.
- Keep food handler's card current.
- Maintains positive work habits.
- Have the ability to develop and maintain an effective working relationship with others.
- Maintains positive work attitude and habits.
- Maintains a professional appearance
- Is punctual and minimizes absences.
- Takes initiative in performing assigned tasks.
EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated twice a year for employees with a continuing contract and three times a year for employees with a probationary contract. This is in accordance with provisions of the Hancock County Board of Education Policy on Evaluation of Service Personnel.
