Poteau Upper Elementary Custodian

Position Summary

The school custodian is responsible for maintianing, cleaning and disinfecting all areas of the facility. He/she will perform basic cleaning, sanitation, and minor maintenance of assigned ares, as well as lawn maintenance, florr finishing, carpet shampooing, moving of furniture/supplies, and other duties assigned.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Sweep, mop, and finish floors
• Dust furniture and other areas
• vacuum and shampoo carpets
• clean restrooms and restock paper and soap supplies
• perform routine maintenance
• empty trash cans and dispose of trash
• change light bulbs, ceiling tiles, etc. as directed
• ensure proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies: and promote workplace safety
• assist in loading and unloading of supplies as needed, arrange boxes, materials, and other supplies in a neat and orderly manner
• set up tables and chairs for various functions and events as required
• assist in maintenance of grounds and exterior of the building.
• assist in snow/ice removal, and other emergency situations
• open and secure buildings when necessary
• perform other duties as assigned
