Building Maintenance Technician

The City of Wyoming Public Works Department is seeking a qualified Building Maintenance Technician in the Facilities Division.

This position will support the maintenance of various City facilities such as HVAC system, painting, plumbing modifications, minor electrical work, security system, contractor oversight, and other types of work associated with commercial building maintenance. Work will also include mowing, landscaping, fertilizing, irrigation maintenance, and snow plowing consistent with seasonal maintenance activities.

Qualified candidates will have skills in carpentry, plumbing, mechanical, and electrical as they relate to building maintenance. Skills and certifications in HVAC and building management systems are preferred. The successful candidate is required to obtain a valid Michigan Pesticide Certification within six months of hire.

Candidates must be able to work independently, prioritize tasks, and understand and follow a work order system and building management systems. Candidate must be dependable, self-motivated, and communicative. Candidates will be required to respond to occasional after-hours emergencies or planned maintenance events such as for power outages or snow plowing.
