This custodial position is responsible for performing a variety of cleaning and minor maintenance duties to ensure city buildings remain safe, clean, and presentable to staff and the public. Regular assignments will include City Hall and the Library, although work locations are subject to change based on city needs. This is a hands-on, active position requiring regular movement and the use of cleaning equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Clean and empty garbage for City offices.
- Sweep, mop, scrub, vacuum, and wax floors and stairways (if applicable)
- Dust and polish woodwork, furniture, and blinds; spot clean carpets and rugs.
- Wash windows and clean sinks, mirrors, drinking fountains, and restrooms.
- Replenish bathroom and facility supplies and maintain inventory of furniture.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
- Ability to read and understand written instructions and labels. Basic math skills; Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and prioritize tasks; Must have a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record; No previous custodial experience required; Ability to interact professionally with coworkers, supervisors, and the public.
Miscellaneous Information
Medical and dental insurance 100% paid by City for the employee; City pays 90% of dependents medical (for base plan) and dental insurance with employee paying 10%; Employee covered by $10,000 life insurance policy; Retirement: Texas Municipal Retirement System 2 to 1 match with employee contributing 7% and City 14%; 12 paid holidays; 15 annual sick days.
