We're looking for a Cook I to join our culinary team at Windows on the Water, our signature restaurant overlooking the tranquil waters of Lake Barkley. Whether preparing fresh, made-from-scratch meals for intimate dinners or large group events, you'll bring flavor and creativity to every plate in a warm, inviting setting. As a Cook I, you'll be more than just a line cook-you'll be a leader, trainer, and vital part of keeping the kitchen running smoothly. What You'll Do:

• Prepare all menu items to spec, ensuring consistent quality and taste
• Cook for buffets, featuring everything from hearty entrees to fresh veggies and homemade soups
• Prepare and maintain a well-stocked salad bar
• Keep the kitchen clean, organized, and efficient
• Lead by example, ensuring every guest enjoys a satisfying dining experience
• Help train new team members and maintain food quality standards
• Follow and enforce kitchen rules, safety procedures, and department policies

• This position is eligible for an approved Sign-on bonus in compliance with 101 KAR 2:034 Section 9(6).

Minimum Requirements

EDUCATION: NONE

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: One year of cooking experience in an institutional or large scale commercial setting.

Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: Vocational training in food service will substitute for the experience on a year-for-year basis.

Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION: NONE

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (AGE, LICENSURE, REGULATION, ETC.): NONE

Probationary Period

This job has an initial and promotional probationary period of 6 months, except as provided in KRS 18A.111.
