Housekeeper

$15.00 PER HOUR

Hours: 8am-5pm Monday-Friday

A school housekeeper is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and hygiene in a school environment. This includes cleaning classrooms, hallways, restrooms, and common areas, as well as disposing of waste and replenishing supplies. They work to ensure a safe and healthy environment for students and staff.

Typical duties include:

• Cleaning: Vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, dusting, and polishing designated areas.
• Restroom Maintenance: Cleaning and disinfecting restrooms, restocking supplies (toilet paper, paper towels, soap, etc.).
• Waste Disposal: Emptying trash cans and recycling bins, ensuring proper disposal of waste.
• Supply Management: Monitoring and replenishing cleaning supplies, reporting low stock to the supervisor.
• Deep Cleaning: Performing deep cleaning tasks during school holidays or as needed.
• Reporting Issues: Notifying the appropriate personnel of any maintenance or safety concerns (e.g., broken equipment, hazardous conditions).
• Following Safety Protocols: Adhering to all safety and sanitation guidelines, including proper use of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
• Teamwork: Working collaboratively with other housekeeping staff and contributing to a positive work environment.
• Communication: Communicating effectively with supervisors and other staff members.
• Other Duties: Performing other related tasks as assigned by the supervisor.

Required Education or Experience:

• High School Graduate /or GED required
• 2-5 years experience working as a housekeeper/custodian
