Schedule: Monday to Friday | 3:00 PM - 11:30 PM Overtime: 3-10 hours/week on average Compensation & Perks: Base Pay: $29.00 - $30.25/hour Shift Differential: +$1.50/hour CDL Premium: +$1.00/hour for CDL holders Total Starting Pay: $30.50 - $31.75/hour (or more with CDL) Tool Allowance: $125/month Annual Boot Voucher Uniforms Provided Full Benefits Package (Medical, Dental, Vision, 401(k), etc.) Career Growth: This is a starting position with a clear path to becoming a Diesel Mechanic . Key Responsibilities: Perform preventative maintenance on garbage trucks, trailers, and heavy equipment Use fleet maintenance software to manage service records Conduct safety inspections and maintain a clean, OSHA-compliant shop Collaborate with drivers to identify and resolve vehicle issues Complete repairs based on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports (DVIRs) Qualifications: Experience in commercial vehicle or diesel maintenance preferred (not required) Valid driver's license Basic tool set and toolbox Basic computer skills and ability to use diagnostic tools Positive attitude and willingness to learn Safety-Sensitive Role This position is classified as safety-sensitive , which means it involves duties where impaired performance could pose a significant risk to the safety of the employee or others.
