POSITION TITLE: Child Nutrition Cafeteria Worker

To assist in the overall duties required to maintain an effective and efficient food preparation facility.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Assist in preparation and serving of USDA reimbursable meals and Ala
Carte items. Perform cleaning, cashiering and dish room duties as assigned.
2. Gather supplies from storeroom, freezer, or refrigerator and deliver to
designated work area.
3. Assists in the maintaining of a clean and safe work area; to include the cleaning
of equipment, utensils, and the serving and dining areas.
4. To maintain appropriate personal health and hygiene, and continuously
practice sanitary food handling procedures.
5. Work cooperatively with all staff members of the Child Nutrition department,
district staff, and students.
6. Follow daily, weekly, and monthly rotation schedules as directed.
7. Follow production menus and recipes to prepare quality products and control
food costs.
8. Ensures compliance with all Child Nutrition department, district, local, state and
federal requirements, policies, guidelines, rules and regulations.
9. Assist co-workers and supervisor when needed and perform other duties as
assigned.
Length of Contract
One hundred seventy-seven (177) contract days.
EVALUATION
Performance of this job will be evaluated by the Cafeteria Manager in accordance with the provisions of the Board's policies & state law.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Education: High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) preferred.
- Previous Experience: Food Service experience preferred

- Basic Skills:
- Ability to read recipes/production menus and comprehend instructions.
- Basic, general math skills required to maintain accurate records and support documentation for projects under the supervision of the position.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, staff, and the community. Ability to communicate clearly and concisely in oral form. Ability to perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and Board of Education policies.

- Physical & Psychomotor Demands:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is constantly required to stand, walk, sit, and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and depth perception. Standing on continuous basis. Use of hands on a repetitive action firm grasping. Frequently working with commercial food preparation equipment.
- Work Environment:
- Commercial food preparation site. Temperature will tend to vary from hot and humid conditions to freezing when working in walk-in freezer.
