We are currently seeking a Sous chef to assist in leading BOH operations for our brand new bar/restaurant, The Pro.
The Pro isnt your average sports bar. We combine top-tier game-day energy with a refined menu, creative cocktails, and an upscale atmosphere.
Position: Sous Chef
Location: Palo Alto, CA.
Schedule: Full time, nights & weekends required
Compensation: Competitive salary
Responsibilities:
- Assist the Executive chef & Chef De Cuisine to inspire a team of kitchen staff to deliver consistent, high-quality dishes.
- Oversee daily BOH operations, including prep, line, inventory, cleanliness, opening, and closing procedures.
- Maintain high standards of food safety, sanitation, and organization.
- Train and develop kitchen staff to promote a positive team culture.
- Collaborate with the Executive Chef on menu development, daily parties, and events.
- Work with GM and FOH staff to ensure smooth service during high-volume shifts.
- Manage food cost, portion control, ordering, and vendor relationships.
What we are looking for:
- 1-3 years of sous chef experience in a high volume, upscale restaurant
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Excellent knowledge of culinary techniques, BOH operations, food safety, and kitchen equipment
- Ability to perform under pressure and adapt to varying situations that arise with a concise, positive, and calm attitude.
- Spanish speaking is a plus
