The Facilities Groundskeeper Tech II will perform the maintenance and upkeep of all grounds including plants, trees, lawn areas, drives, walkways, snow and ice removal, removal of trash and recycling.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintain and repair existing landscape features.
- Perform the bed preparation, planting, weeding, and trimming, of all flower beds, and landscaping areas.
- Perform tree maintenance including trimming, removal, and fertilization.
- Perform maintenance of landscaping equipment and tools.
- Perform maintenance, repairs, and winterization of irrigation systems and/or specialize in chemical application.
- Assist in the cleaning of debris, removal of snow and ice, spreading of sand and ice melt and repair of all walkways, trails, drives and parking areas.
- Help to create and keep an orderly and clean work environment to include all ground and facility working areas.
- Keep Supervisor and Lead Facilities Groundskeeper informed of equipment and supply needs.
- All other duties as assigned.
Prerequisites:
- Prior irrigation and irrigation control wiring experience preferred.
- Familiarization with fertilization and/or chemicals for foliage control and plant varieties and care.
- Knowledge of grounds keeping duties including operating and maintaining equipment
Education and Experience :
Minimum high school diploma, preferred experience in grounds keeping. Chemical application license and/or irrigation technician.
Other Skills and/or Requirements:
A valid driver’s license is required.
