Collect garbage and clean garbage receptacles, dust window sills, cabinets, counters, tables, large equipment, and furniture. Clean drinking fountains and replenish drinking cups if necessary. Clean kitchen area, spot clean painted walls, dust floors and hallways, dry and wet mop as needed. Strip, treat and buff floors quarterly. Vacuum carpeted areas daily, including in and around desks and baseboards. Clean smudges on glass, counters, telephones, and writing tables with spot and smudge remover to maintain cleanliness of the office, clean out exterior ash tray container. Maintain cleanliness of the restrooms by completing the following: sweep, damp mop and remove stains, clean mirrors, clean and dust stalls and doors, clean and disinfect toilet bowls/urinals, clean wash basins, replenish soap and soap dispensers, and clean faucets. Maintain cleanliness of the grounds; remove debris from the parking lot and collect exterior garbage. Report any failures, leaks, or other discrepancies to the building and electrical devices to the Administrative Sergeant immediately. Compile a list of needed janitorial supplies for monthly requisition. Estimate future needs and submit requests through the normal requisition process. Replace burned out light bulbs and tubes when necessary. Dust and clean exterior surfaces of personnel lockers. Move furniture, tables, and chairs as required or necessary. Other job related duties as assigned.

Working ConditionsThe employee will work both indoors and outdoors. While indoors, the temperature and humidity are reasonably controlled; however, while outdoors, the employee is exposed to climatic conditions. Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
