The City of Plano is seeking a highly motivated and quick-learning individual to join our dedicated team as a Public Works Maintenance Worker in the Pumping Facilities Department. This essential team operates 24/7 to support the continuous operation of Plano's critical water infrastructure, based at the Ridgeview Pump Station (located near Ridgeview Dr. and Custer Rd.). In this role, you will assist in the maintenance and operation of four pump stations, six sewer lift stations, and ten water towers, helping to ensure reliable water service throughout the city.

In this role, you'll work with a wide range of essential systems-including pump stations, water storage tanks, and control valves-to ensure each facility is operating efficiently and safely. Responsibilities include inspecting and maintaining critical equipment such as pumps, motors, and valves; assisting with water quality testing; pulling and backwashing sewer pumps; and adhering to strict safety protocols. This position plays a key role in supporting the reliability and performance of Plano's water infrastructure.

The successful candidate may be offered a position in one of the following classifications: Public Works Maintenance Worker I, Public Works Maintenance Worker II, or Public Works Maintenance Worker III. The hiring range for the Public Works Maintenance Worker I is $18.81 - $22.57 per hour; for the Public Works Maintenance Worker II, is $19.75 - $23.70 per hour; and for the Public Works Maintenance Worker III, is $20.74 - $24.89 per hour.

Hours for this position are Monday-Friday, 6:30 am - 3:00 pm, on-call required after training.
