Position Title Custodian Department Building Services Responsibilities
- Perform general interior cleaning tasks such as vacuuming, mopping, waxing, scrubbing, and dusting floors and windows. (A1)
- Clean bathrooms, classrooms, hallways, offices, lobbies, entry ways, elevators and other facility areas.(A1)
- Keep infection control stations clean and maintained with adequate supplies and sanitizer. (A1)
- Keep restrooms stocked with appropriate supply of tissue, paper towels and soap. (A1)
- Dispose of all facility garbage and recycling by transporting materials to proper disposal areas. (A1)
- Maintain assigned building exterior main entrance by sweeping or using a leaf blower. (A1)
- Move, arrange, set-up, and tear down furniture and other event materials when required. (A1)
- Stock and organize supplies and equipment to maintain inventory cleanliness and standards. (A1)
- May provide guidance to lower level facilities positions. (A1)
- Perform required inclement weather duties as directed during regular or unscheduled shift days/hours to assure safety of campus navigation for all pedestrians and motorists including but not limited to, plowing snow, sleet, ice and chemical application to parking lots and sidewalks, entrances, etc. (A1)
- Perform other related duties of a comparable level/type as assigned.
Qualifications
Must be a minimum of 18 years old with a valid driver's license preferred. Knowledge of electrical floor care machines is required. Must be able to use manual cleaning tools such as mops, brooms, vacuum cleaners, specialized cleaning kits, latex gloves, and safety equipment as needed to perform duties. Must be able to lift 50 pounds, climb ladders, kneel, clearly write, and read directions.
