The Salvation Army Midland Division Corps Camp Mihaska located in Bourbon, Missouri, is looking for a cook. This individual is expected to perform all functions of a Camp cook. This includes but is not limited to ensuring efficient operation of the kitchen and dining area; preparation and serving of meals; and clean-up of kitchen and dining area.
This is an as needed position, 24 hours per week, with starting pay of $15.50 per hour.

Essential Functions
- Prepare and serve food.
- Comply with state health regulations in the operation of the kitchen, including maintenance of proper sanitation by wearing plastic gloves, hair nets, and aprons.
- Sanitize all cooking utensils.
- Ensure dining room is set up and tables and floors are clean before and after meals.
- Keep kitchen refrigerators, walk-in refrigerator, freezer, and all drawers and cabinets clean and organized at all times.
- Keep all foods in the refrigerators labeled with date and contents.
- Keep and maintain a daily temperature log of food being served, as well as all refrigerators and freezers.
- Operate necessary kitchen equipment for food preparation and clean-up.
- Lift and carry cooking materials and supplies.
- Attend necessary state certification classes and staff meetings.
- Maintain client confidentiality and treat clients and staff with respect.
- Report any damage or theft of kitchen items to supervisor.
- Maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a manner that fosters good relationships with clients, co-workers and supervisors. This includes, but is not limited to, such actions as: resolution of conflicts in a professional manner; courteous treatment of staff, visitors and clients; respect of others property and person; and professional and appropriate communication to and about clients, co-workers and supervisors.

Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent and one year cooking experience. Combination of education and experience will be considered. Able to comply with recipes, safety handling instructions and job description. Must have or obtain within the orientation period a valid food handling certificate. Able to prepare meals in large quantities. Valid drivers license and pass TSA MVR check is a plus.
Physical and Working Conditions
Must be capable of performing the above essential duties. Capable of frequently lifting 25 pounds and occasionally lifting up to 50 pounds. Will occasionally move 50 or more pounds using dolly/cart/truck. Most work will be indoors in a temperature control environment; however, in the kitchen it will get above 80 degrees at times and cold in the walk-in refrigerator/freezer if so equipped.
