Overview

The Event Coordinator plays a key role in supporting the Tournament Director in the planning and execution of the OccuNet Classic, a PGA TOUR-sanctioned event on the Korn Ferry Tour, held annually at Tascosa Golf Club in Amarillo, Texas. This position offers a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of professional golf, community engagement, and live event operations.

The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented, proactive professional with experience or a strong interest in event coordination, marketing, sports management, or communications. They should be comfortable managing multiple priorities, working in a fast-paced environment, and collaborating with a range of stakeholders. Whether bringing a few years of experience or looking to expand within the events or sports industries, the right candidate will be a team player with strong communication skills, a passion for live events, and a commitment to delivering high-quality results.

Key Responsibilities

Volunteer Program:

Assist in the planning and execution of the tournament's Volunteer Program, including recruitment strategy, communication timelines, and on-site coordination

Cultivate and manage relationships with local and regional partners to support program needs, including food & beverage, uniforms, volunteer gifting, and other logistics

Work closely with Tascosa Golf Club to fulfill volunteer golf round commitments and ensure alignment with contractual obligations

Marketing & Social Media:

Develop marketing strategy and design, coordinate creative advertising in close partnership with title sponsor

Manage marketing and communications, including website, traditional and social media, press releases, content management system, etc.

Manage relationship with marketing partners and execute promotions

Facilitate planning and execution of all special events, including outside of tournament week

Develop ideas for fan enhancements, hospitality products and sponsorship categories

Event Operations:

Assist with sponsor sales support, activation, contracts, inventory, invoices, client communications

Assist with securing operational partners and managing the logistics of the event

Assist with all pro-am event details including print materials, schedules, gifting, catering, awards, and party execution

Manage Birdies for Charity Program and other charitable endeavors

Manage the tournament's ticketing platform, fulfillment, and credentialing

Arrange all tournament orders for apparel, gifting, awards, supplies, etc.

Utilize Asana and event tracking tools for planning and execution

Special projects or other duties as assigned

Key Success Metrics

Successful social media engagement and email newsletter

High retention and satisfaction rates among volunteers

Successful execution of grass root marketing activations and promotional efforts

Efficient and well-coordinated event operations with seamless execution

Positive client, patron and Korn Ferry Tour feedback on the overall event experience

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in marketing, sports management, business, event management, communications, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered

Proficiency in Google Suite, Microsoft Office, and event planning tools (e.g., Asana)

Experience with design software (Adobe suite, Wix, Wordpress, etc.) desired

Understanding and capacity to master and utilize CRM software

Exceptional organizational and verbal skills

Ability to use logical or rational thinking to solve problems

Ability to provide effective written and verbal instructions, as well as the ability to carry out detailed written or verbal instructions independently

Ability to accurately review and interpret visual report data

Experience managing marketing campaigns, social media, and sponsorship activations

Minimum 1-3 years of job experience

Ability to work independently while collaborating with cross-functional teams

Willingness to travel to support other Framework Events and work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays

Located in or willing to relocate to Amarillo, Texas

Compensation
