Job Summary/Basic Function:
The primary responsibilities of this position are to maintain institutional buildings and facilities by performing light maintenance tasks for precautionary or preventive maintenance purposes by following established procedures and at the direction of departmental supervisors. Must be able to work nights and weekends.
Minimum Qualifications:
High School diploma or GED
2 years performing maintenance or repair work
Must possess a valid drivers license.
Ability to read, understand and follow instructions.
Ability to work alone in an area with minimal supervision.
Ability to operate hand and power tools.
Ability to communicate effectively with others.
Ability to bend, stoop, stand, walk and lift up to 75 pounds on a daily basis.
Equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities may be considered as meeting the minimum qualifications, at the direction of the hiring supervisor.
Preferred Qualifications:
More than 4 years experience in electrical, plumbing and/or building maintenance and repair environment.
Demonstrated ability to excel, to be highly motivated, to exercise initiative and willingness to put forth the extra effort to getting a task accomplished.

Job Duties Description of Job Duties:
Performs light maintenance tasks on buildings and equipment for precautionary or preventative maintenance purposes to include roof surveys, changing light bulbs, cleaning light lenses, testing emergency lighting, cleaning LED light poles and other outside lighting, unclogging sinks, toilets and showers, replacing batteries in sinks and toilets, maintaining drains in buildings, replacing paper towel and toilet paper dispensers, replacing ceiling tiles, and changing batteries in Onity locks.
Sets up and arranges furniture for special events, delivers tables and chairs, move office equipment (file cabinets, desks, etc.).
Cleans entrances and porches by shoveling, and removing water, ice, snow, litter, and debris from sidewalks, steps, and entryways out 25 from building.
Notifies supervisor of equipment and facilities needing repair or replacement.
Assists Campus Service Workers with clean up after events.
May be required to remove hazardous materials following specific instructions and safety procedures, such as those used to abate a spill a clean-up of bodily fluids (blood borne pathogens).
Weekly maintains the campus clocks in particular McMurran Hall clock tower.
Maintains a database of air purifiers placed on campus. Database contains information concerning size, placement date, PM requirements and operating schedule.
Independently complete work orders for plumbing, electrical, locksmith and carpentry work orders.
Other duties as assigned by supervisor, including emergency on-call support
