The Custodial will provide students and staff with a safe, attractive, comfortable, clean, and efficient place in which to work, learn, play, and develop.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. Keeps building and premises, including sidewalks, driveways and play areas, neat and clean at all times
2. Checks daily to ensure that all exit doors are open and all panic bolts are working properly during the hours of building occupancy
3. Maintains all equipment in a clean and well-functioning manner
4. Raises and lowers the United States flag daily
5. Vacuums and spot clean carpeting in assigned areas of responsibility
6. Sweeps classrooms and corridors and dusts furniture
7. Cleans and disinfects toilets and floors daily cleans all sanitary fixtures and drinking fountains daily
8. Refills restroom dispensers, as needed (i.e., toilet tissue, paper towels, hand soap, sanitary napkins)
9. Washes windows on both the inside and outside, as needed
10. Removes graffiti from walls and other surfaces, as needed
11. Keeps the grounds free from rubbish
12. Follows all safety guidelines to maintain a safe environment for staff and students
13. Cleans all chalkboards and whiteboards, as needed
14. Report immediately to the principal any damage to school property and any major repairs needed
15. Properly dispenses all dilutable cleaning solutions in accordance with manufacturers recommendations
16. Utilizes wet floor hazard signs whenever mopping floors or inclement weather prevails
17. Ensures all chemical products are properly labeled whenever using
18. Requisitions needed replacements from the Director of Maintenance as needed
19. Assists in the cafeteria, as needed
20. Performs emergency cleaning services, as necessary while following strict safety guidelines whenever cleaning up body fluid waste
21. Follows the established procedures and policies of the Dunklin R-5 Board of Education
22. Performs all duties within district cleaning procedures
23. Remove snow from sidewalks and apply chemicals to keep sidewalks ice-free
24. Performs other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Director or Custodial Night Supervisor and/or Building Principal

Starting Date : Immediately after filled
Salary Range: Commensurate with experience from $14.35 - $16.33.
Benefits: District Paid Health, Life, and Dental Insurance, Employees will be offered, on a fee basis, in-district childcare for ages birth through two with preschool available from ages 3 to 5. PEERS, optional supplemental insurance plans, and optional 403b; 457 plans. Twelve (12) Personal Days, Paid Jury Duty, Five (5) Paid Bereavement Days, and Fourteen (14) paid holidays.
