Senior Guest Services Attendant - PT

MESKER PARK ZOO - DUTIES: Admissions: operates computerized point-of-sale, handling revenue for ticketing and membership sales, collecting data, processing transactions, answers phones. Gift Shop: staffs the gift shop including sales, stocking, straightening, cleaning and maintaining the overall appearance. Attractions & Guest Experience: staffs the Paddleboat rentals, Carousel rides, Giraffe feedings, Budgie Aviary & feedings, Penguin feedings, Contact Zoo, and Tram tours. Birthday Host: serves as host for birthday parties including set up, tear down and a tour and conducts animal encounters. Facility Rentals & Special Events: assists with set up and tear down. Janitorial: general cleaning and seeing that the parks maintains an overall welcoming appearance, free of trash & litter.

QUALIFICATIONS: Requires good communication skills and must be friendly, neat in appearance and able to deal directly with the public in a positive manner. Must be able to work outside in the heat and other adverse weather conditions and be able to lift 40 pounds. Computer and retail experience is a plus. Valid driver's license is required. Must have 6 months experience within a zoo Guest Services department or comparable guest services atmosphere. Must have a flexible work schedule and be willing to work year round. May require assisting with training of new employees and supervising volunteers on occasion.
