Guest Services Attendant - PT

MESKER PARK ZOO - DUTIES: The Guest Services Attendant serves as a frontline, part-time position responsible for assisting visitors on a day-to-day basis to ensure an enjoyable visit. These functions include, but are not limited to, the following: Admissions: operates computerized point-of-sale, handling revenue for ticketing and membership sales, collecting data, processing transactions, answers phones Gift Shop: staffs the gift shop including sales, stocking, straightening, cleaning and maintaining the overall appearance. Attractions & Guest Experience: staffs the Paddleboat rentals, Carousel rides, Giraffe feedings, Budgie Aviary & feedings, Penguin feedings, Contact Zoo, and Tram tours. Birthday Host: serves as host for birthday parties including set up, tear down and a tour and conducts animal encounters. Facility Rentals & Special Events: assists with set up and tear down. Janitorial: general cleaning and seeing that the parks maintains an overall welcoming appearance, free of trash & litter

QUALIFICATIONS: Good communication skills and must be friendly, neat in appearance and be able to deal directly with the public in a positive manner. Candidates must be able to work outside in heat and other adverse weather conditions and be able to lift up to 40 pounds. Computer and retail experience is a plus. Valid driver's license is recommended. Must have flexible work schedule and be able to work weekends, holidays, and some evenings for special events. Assists with training of new employees and also supervises volunteers on occasion.
