SUMMARY: The primary responsibility of this position is to ensure all beverage service products and supplies are available and maintaining the cleanliness and appearance of all beverage outlets.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Provides exceptional service to guests and other customers in a courteous manner.
  2. Is responsible for stocking all beverage products for use by the beverage staff including liquor, beer, soda, mixers and cups.
  3. Completes all beverage outlet activities including filling soda and coffee machines, cleaning spouts, replenishing cup supply and cleaning all beverage dispensers and surfaces.
  4. Washes and dries glasses, dishes, plates and beverage utensils and ensures adequate supplies are available for bartender and wait staff use.
  5. Manages and maintains the cleanliness and appearance of all lounge areas that may include sweeping, mopping and sanitizing bar tops, counters and work stations.
  6. Is responsible for maintaining the stock room in a clean and orderly manner.
  7. Verifies and records all beverage department products and supplies and stores all products and supplies in correct storage areas.
  8. Assists bartenders and wait staff with cleaning, set up and closing activities.
  9. Is responsible for adhering to alcohol awareness programs including following protocols, checking guest identification and performing responsible beverage service.
  10. May perform bartending responsibilities as required.
  11. Reports any guest complaints or concerns to immediate supervisor or manager for resolution.
  12. Notifies supervisor, manager or facility administrator of situations that may affect guests, associates or the Lake of the Torches Resort Casino.
  13. Performs other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Performs position responsibilities under the direct supervision of the Bar & Grill Supervisor or Bar & Grill Manager checking with supervisor frequently for directions or questions.

POSITION RELATIONSHIPS:

  1. Internal: Occasional contact with associates at all levels.
  2. External: Continual contact with guests and visitors. Infrequent contact with suppliers and sales representatives.

EDUCATION: A High School education or equivalent is required.

EXPERIENCE: A minimum of three months prior bartending, customer service or cash handling experience is preferred.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Must possess excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills. Must be able to manage and maintain confidential and sensitive information with diplomacy and tact. Must maintain a professional demeanor in stressful situations as necessary.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

  1. Work Conditions: The majority of responsibilities are performed within lounge areas and on the gaming floor with exposure to differentials in temperature.
  2. Exposure to Hazards: May be exposed to situations where hazardous chemicals, spills, wet floors or guest behaviors may create undesirable conditions. Exposure to secondhand smoke.
  3. Physical Requirements: Continual walking, bending, standing and lifting is required.

The manner in which the employee relates to fellow employees, customers and visitors is considered parallel in importance to technical knowledge and ability. Respect and consideration given to the dignity of each customer, visitor and fellow employee is a requisite of successful job performance.

OTHER: Must possess a bartending license of have the ability to obtain a bartending license and attend responsible beverage service class within 90 days of hire date. Must attend all mandatory meetings and participate in departmental training and development sessions. Must be able to work irregular hours, weekends, holidays, and be available for call-in work on short notice.
