Position Descriptions

Job Title: Maintenance Technician

Division: Operations Reports to: Maintenance Manager

Job Function: Maintain operation of Bar Soap production line equipment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Set up when maintenance repairs are identified
  • Respond to maintenance repair requests from the production
  • Maintains machine records by recording service and repairs
  • Review and complete Work Orders on a daily basis
  • Establish the root cause of machine failure during maintenance repairs
  • Provide training and development to Maintenance Tech I
  • Establish a plan to prevent repeat failure based on the root cause
  • Machine parts, fabricate, and weld as directed by the Maintenance Manager
  • Assist with facility maintenance and other activities as directed by the Maintenance Manager
  • Review operation and make suggestions to improve the process, follow up until the project is completed
  • Assist production in maintaining quality standards
  • Ensure compliance with all Company policies and procedures
  • Ensure compliance with all safety procedures
  • Equipment PM, repair, and installation
  • Other activities as directed by the Maintenance Tech level 3 or Maintenance Manager

  • Management personnel

Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • High school education requires a minimum of 2 years of post-secondary schooling.
  • +5 years' experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Capable of functioning with little supervision.
  • High Mechanical, Welding, & Fabrication skills.
  • Good Electrical skills
  • Able to read engineering drawings
  • Able to communicate effectively and have strong team collaboration skills
  • Able to operate all machinery on the production floor
  • General knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices.
  • Capable of physical effort. Will spend a significant number of hours in a shop floor environment.
  • General knowledge of company policies and procedures.
  • Capable of extended hour commitment and on-call at all times.
  • Capable of completing full setup (Press through Packaging) of every machine

Working Conditions:

  • Constant exposure to the manufacturing environment.
  • Potentially cold environment.
  • Potential heavy lifting.
