Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)

We are seeking a dynamic Certified Medical Assistant/Receptionist to support our Pediatric Cardiology team. This dual role will involve both clinical and administrative responsibilities, ensuring smooth operations within the practice and providing top-notch care for our young patients. The ideal candidate will be a compassionate, detail-oriented professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced, patient-centered environment.
ResponsibilitiesClinical Duties:
Assist with patient intake, including taking vital signs and medical histories.
Prepare patients for exams and procedures, ensuring their comfort and safety.
Administer medications and injections as directed by the physician.
Perform basic lab tests and diagnostic procedures, including EKGs and preparing equipment.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in our electronic health record (EHR) system.
Support the physician during examinations and procedures.
Receptionist Duties:
Greet patients and families in a friendly, professional manner.
Answer phone calls and schedule appointments.
Verify patient information, including insurance details and demographics.
Assist with patient check-in and check-out processes.
Manage patient inquiries and direct them to the appropriate healthcare provider.
- Graduate of an accredited program for Medical Assistants.
- High school diploma required if work is performed in a complex CLIA lab.
- Current CMA certification for Certified Medical Assistant from AAMA, NCCT, AMT or NHA
- Mandatory Reporter certification.
- CPR certification.
- Meets educational/competency requirements per policy.
- Previous clinical experience in a medical office preferred.
- Computer data entry experience.
- BLS and Mandatory Reporter certification.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work as a team member
- Ability to understand and apply guidelines, policies and procedures.
- Able to write, read, comprehend and speak fluent English.
- Strong computer skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
