    Salary: Salary placement on our classified salary schedule is dependent on the employees education and/or work experience. Non-licensed employees will be granted one (1) year for each full year of work experience and/or educational attainment up to a maximum of ten (10) years. Responsibility for verification of outside experience shall rest with the individual employee. Additional days may be added to the notice of assignment at the request of administration based on need with approval from the CFO/COO or Superintendent of Schools. Click here for more information.

    EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
    Required:
    • High school diploma or GED equivalency
    • Be knowledgeable regarding basic school plant maintenance.
    • Have basic knowledge of floor machines, fire extinguishers, and equipment for good housekeeping.
    • Willing to work any shift and any days.
    • Be able to work off elevated surfaces.

    JOB DESCRIPTION
    Summary/Objective:

    Essential Functions and Characteristics:
    • The custodian shall be responsible for cleaning an assigned building area. (Ex.; pick up garbage, sweep, vacuum, mop, clean classrooms/restrooms).
    • The custodian shall be responsible for cleaning the litter and debris from the assigned grounds area.
    • The custodian shall report to the maintenance supervisor any repair work needed in the assigned area.
    • The custodian shall maintain an adequate number of supplies and report needed items to the maintenance supervisor.
    • The custodian shall sanitize all fountain and restroom areas in the assigned area.
    • The custodian shall work to eliminate all safety hazards that exist in the assigned building and grounds areas, such as broken glass, icy walks and steps, etc.
    • The custodian shall be available on snow mornings to assist in all snow cleaning efforts as assigned by the maintenance supervisor.
    • The custodian shall report to the building principal any student in violation of school rules.
    • The custodian shall help with setup and tear down of equipment and furniture for activity events.
    • The custodian shall assume responsibilities for unlocking the building during the morning shift and locking and securing the buildings during the evening shift.
    • Performs all other duties as assigned maintenance supervisor.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.
