Groundskeeper I- Landscaping

The City of College Park Public Works Department is seeking a full-time Groundskeeper I for the Landscaping division.

The groundskeeper must have basic knowledge of landscape maintenance tasks such as planting, pruning, watering trees and shrubs, mulching, and weeding landscape beds. In addition, the selected person must be able to apply pesticides, use various landscaping power tools, perform various manual labor duties, and assist in snow removal. The Groundskeeper will assist the landscaping supervisor in carrying out assignments while communicating effectively with coworkers, giving instructions and guidance on completing the tasks and reading planting designs.

This position is considered essential; the person selected must be able to report to work during inclement weather and other emergency situations.

Other requirements included:

• Two years of experience in commercial landscape maintenance.
• Valid driver's license from the state of residence.
• MD registered pesticide technician certification within the first 6 months of hire.

The pay scale for this is 104/10 to 104/13, with an hourly range of $24.29- $25.93, depending on qualifications. The position closes on May 30, 2025.
