Bus Cleaner - Seasonal

SUMMARY

Maintains cleanliness of the equipment and facilities of the Transportation Department.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following; other duties may be assigned.

• Spray and wipe down interior surfaces of buses including windows, walls, railings, passenger seats, floors, doors, mirrors, dashboard instruments and gauges, and driver controls.
• Spray and wipe down exterior surfaces of buses including windows, walls, running light and signal light lenses, mirrors, doors, tires, and rims.
• Maintains cleanliness and order around Transportation Operations facilities including sweeping, mopping, and wiping of tables, counters, and other surfaces.
• Operates basic cleaning equipment such as vacuum cleaners.
• Works as directed by Transportation Vehicle Technicians (Seasonal and Full-Time), and Internal Operations Coordinator.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required.

LANGUAGE SKILLS :

• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Ability to communicate with co-workers in English.

REASONING ABILITY :

• Ability to apply common-sense understanding and carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES :

• Ability to communicate effectively.
• Ability to remain calm in a fast-paced, demanding environment.
