GENERAL SUMMARY:

The Grounds Maintenance Specialist is responsible for the overall grounds maintenance of the Campus.

PRINCIPLE DUTIES:

  • Assists in all operations of the Grounds Department including maintaining of all lawns, trees, gardens, shrubbery, plants and ponds.
  • Maintains all parking areas.
  • Installs and maintains exterior signs.
  • Maintains boundary fencing.
  • Able to use and maintain all associated equipment and machinery.
  • Assists residents with gardening.
  • Cleans all exterior windows and doors.
  • Removes snow and ice from roads and walks.
  • Caring for interior foliage plants.
  • Exterior trash removal.
  • Replaces exterior and parking deck lights.
  • Assists Maintenance team as needed.
  • Maintains irrigation systems.
  • Attendance is essential to this job. Must also maintain dependability and punctuality as outlined in Attendance policy.

Full-time, hourly position.

Pay Rate: $17.50 - $18.50 per hour.

QUALIFCATIONS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Strong horticultural background preferred. Ability to implement and initiate necessary plans to ensure proper maintenance of grounds. Basic computer knowledge and experience.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Associates degree in Horticulture or Landscaping preferred. High school diploma or GED required. Three years' experience in grounds maintenance.
