Temporary Summer Maintenance or Groundskeeper

Under the supervision of the Director, this position performs painting, grass cutting, trim work, light maintenance to improve university facilities and equipment. The position is less than time during the first shift this summer from May 12 to August 22.

Responsibilities:

• Performs minor maintenance, repair, alteration to buildings, room painting and touch ups.
• Performs grass cutting, edge trimming, exterior debris collection, and plant bed maintenance.
• Assists in the painting of vacated student housing and university facilities.

Qualifications:

• Knowledge and skills at a level normally acquired through the completion of a high school education or equivalency.
• No experience in maintenance or grounds is required.
• On the job training will be provided to include appropriate safety practices.
• Ability to perform tasks in room size spaces and residential lawns.
• Ability to handle exposure to: dirt, dust, and grease, electricity, and climatic weather. Equipment that has moving parts and loud noise.
• Physical Requirements: ability to lift 50 pounds on a regular basis.
