JOB REQUIREMENTS: The primary responsibility of dishwashers is to scrubdishes and cookware. While some dishes are placed in the dishwasher, thedishwasher must hand wash more fragile objects. Dry Dishes After disheshave been washed, they must be dried. Dishes are often left to air dry,but when a kitchen personnel are in a rush and lacking utensils,dishwashers must hand dry the dishes. Run Dishwasher Dishwashers areusually in charge of loading the kitchen\'s dishwasher appliance, whichincludes properly stacking the dishes, loading soap and running themachine. Stack and Organize After dishes have been cleaned, thedishwasher must stack and organize them for easy retrieval. Dishwashersusually stack dishes and cookware in consultation with chefs and otherswho require access to them. Clean garbage cans with water or steam.Maintain kitchen work areas, equipment, or utensils in clean and orderlycondition. Place clean dishes, utensils, or cooking equipment in storageareas. Sort and remove trash, placing it in designated pickup areas.Sweep or scrub floors. Wash dishes, glassware, flatware, pots, or pans,using dishwashers or by hand.
