Position Announcement

Utah Valley University is seeking a dedicated andanized individual to lead custodial operations within Dining Services. This role supervises a team of hourly student custodians, providing hands-on training in effective floor care, cleaning techniques, and safety practices to ensure a clean and weing environment for the campusmunity. In addition to overseeing daily custodial responsibilities, the position also supports evening catering events by coordinating with catering staff to ensure smooth execution and proper post-event cleanup. Summary of Responsibilities

Supervise and train custodial staff on proper cleaning techniques, safety issues and use of all custodial equipment. Enforcing rules, regulations, and policies.

Maintain inventory and supervise the usage of supplies, chemicals, and equipment. Contributes to a work environment that encourages knowledge of, respect for, and development of skills to engage with those of other cultures or backgrounds.

Assists in hiring qualified employees by participating in the interview process and making rmendations regarding the employment of applicants. Approve electronic time sheets, assumes the duties of absence student custodians in their assigned area.

Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Provides work direction to evening catering student employees. Monitor evening catering events to ensure they function smoothly in a highly professional manor.

Qualifications / Licenses / Certifications

Graduation from an accredited institution with a bachelor's degree in a related field or abination of education and/or experience related to the summary of duties totaling 4 years.

Licenses/Certifications

A Food Handler's Permit is required within the first 30 days of employment.

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities

Knowledge

Knowledge of methods, materials, and equipment used in custodial work.

Knowledge of supervision and training.

Knowledge of custodial sanitation and sterilization methods and techniques.

Knowledge of the proper and safe use and storage of cleaningpounds.

Knowledge of the proper and safe use of ladders.

Knowledge of safe lifting and moving techniques.

Skills

Skills in interpersonalmunication, problem-solving, and decision-making.

Abilities

Ability to train and provide work direction to others.

Ability to use cleaning materials, equipment, and methods according to pre-determined

standards.

Ability tomunicate effectively regarding expectations, training, and discipline.

Ability to inventory janitorial supplies.

Ability to teach procedures to aplish assignments more efficiently
