Perform a variety of general cleaning tasks to maintain all inpatientand outpatient areas, offices, corridors, stairwells, elevators,furniture, public and other assigned areas of Hospital in a clean,sanitary and safe condition, in accordance with all operatingprocedures, infection control and safety policies. Displays properconduct when dealing with patients, visitors and all hospital staff.Description: Cleans/Terminal Cleans/Sanitize assigned areas inaccordance with operating procedures using proper equipment, chemicalsand supplies. Prepares patient rooms for occupancy, per operatingprocedures and inputs into approved room ready notification system.Maintains all equipment/closets used to perform job in a clean andorderly condition. Clean all equipment at the end of the shift. Performsspecialized cleaning procedures in accordance with operating procedures.e.g. CCU procedure room, nurseries, isolation rooms. Maintainingcleanliness of environment, cleaning kitchen area, med rooms, employeebathrooms, janitor closet, refrigerators, microwave, etc., all clinicalequipment on unit, wheelchairs, stretchers, scales, bedside tables, IVpoles etc,. Reports problems with equipment to the charge nurse. Set upmeetings and functions/supply appropriate A/V equipment. Spray buffs orhigh-speed burnishes tile floors. Spot cleans carpets; buffs carpets incorridors and rooms; moves cleaning equipment, supplies within orbetween hospital buildings; moves furniture as requested. Performs allduties in an independent manner with little or no supervision. Removesgeneral trash, medical waste soiled/used linen, from work area and placein specified bags and/or containers. Transport to assigned disposalarea. Handles cleaning chemicals and solutions per product labeling anddepartmental procedures. Utilizes housekeeping equipment in a safe andefficient manner. Wears appropriate personal protective equipment as pertraining, signage and product labels. Adheres to safety regulations asper departmental training (e.g. wet floor signs, caution tape,electrical cords laid along wall). Participates in in-serviceeducational programs and staff meetings. Performs other work relatedduties as requested/directed. Qualifications: Ability to communicate inEnglish to understand and respond to basic verbal and written Englishlanguage instruction. Ability to perform physical requirements ofposition as outlined. Crisis Prevention Intervention Training within 3months of new position for positions in the In-Patient Psych Unit.Position requires a person with a positive attitude who is pleasant,cooperative, committed to the team approach and displays a professionaldemeanor with patients, families, physicians and fellow workers.Schedule Details: 20 hrs. per week, Rotating Evenings, 5p-9p, E/OWeekend & Rot. Holiday
