Essential Functions

These are the job duties required of the position.

Essential Functions

• Performs routine and specialized groundskeeping functions to include: mowing and edging lawns.
• Removing grass clippings, leaves, pine needles, trash, and debris from lawns and landscape areas.
• Pruning shrubbery and trees.
• Planting and mulching shrubs, trees, and flowers
• Installing stakes and guys on trees as required.
• Applying irrigation water to lawns, trees, shrubs and flowers.
• Operating a variety of tools and equipment to include pruners, line trimmers, blower, rake, shovel, push mower, edger, sod cutter, riding mowers, tractor mounted flail/bush hog, hydraulic tree spade, tractor mounted spreader/sprayers and high speed chipper grinder.
• Applying chemicals and fertilizer, peat, and other materials weighing up to 60 lbs.
• Sweeping streets, driveways and parking lots.
• Operating a variety of university owned pick-up trucks, maintaining and calibrating equipment as required.
• Installing and repairing irrigation systems.
• Regular and prompt attendance.
• Ability to work schedule as defined and overtime as required.
• Related duties as required.
