Custodian/Bus Driver

The custodian/bus driver is expected to be committed and exemplify the values of the Magnet Cove School District. These values are fundamental to creating and maintaining a positive environment for all individuals they engage within the community and/or the school. The custodian/bus driver maintains a calm and professional demeanor at all times. The custodian/bus driver is a team player who is able to adapt to change quickly and understands the importance of their duties.

The custodian is integral to the smooth and successful cleaning operations of the entire campus including maintaining a clean campus environment for our students and staff. They are heavily involved in supporting the safe, smooth and successful day-to-day operations of the school.

School bus drivers are essential to the district. They must transport students to and from school safely, while maintaining discipline and order on the bus. Bus drivers are expected to treat all students and staff members with respect.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Supports the vision, mission, and goals of the school with consistent modeled integrity and work ethicHave a CDL or be willing to obtain a CDL and be willing to drive a bus for the school district.Maintains confidentialityWorks well with others and independently with strong time management skillsHandles the physical demands of the job, including standing, walking, bending, kneeling, climbing, carrying, and lifting 50 lbsTakes pride in duties and responsibilitiesKeeps buildings and property in clean and orderly conditionPerforms cleaning duties such as sweeps, mops, shampoos, scrubs, strips, wax or vacuums floors and/or ceilings, vents, and wallsDust all surfacesCleans windows, mirrors, vents, water fountains, and furnitureGathers and empties trashClean and sanitize restroom facilitiesMakes minor repairsCleans and maintains all equipmentSanitize school facilitiesFlexible hoursFollow all school policiesOther duities as assigned
