Job Description
A Community Resource Receptionist, as the first point of contact, greets visitors, answers phones, and provides information about available community resources. They may also assist with intakes, coordinate entry into programs, and manage client information.
Greeting Visitors and Clients:
Providing a warm and professional welcome to all visitors, both in person and over the phone.
Answering Phone Calls:
Managing incoming calls, screening, and routing them appropriately.
Providing Information:
Offering accurate information about community resources, programs, and services.
Intake and Assessment:
Assisting with intakes, screening potential clients, and gathering necessary information.
Coordinating Entry:
Working with clients to navigate and access various community resources and programs.
Administrative Support:
Performing general administrative tasks like filing, copying, and managing client files.
Maintaining a Professional Environment:
Ensuring a clean and organized reception area.
Trauma-Informed Communication:
Utilizing trauma-informed communication and de-escalation strategies when interacting with clients, especially those experiencing homelessness or other crises.
Additional Skills and Qualities:
Strong Customer Service Skills: Demonstrating a friendly, helpful, and patient demeanor.
Excellent Communication Skills: Both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively convey information to diverse audiences.
Problem-Solving Skills: Being able to assist clients with challenges and find solutions.
