About the role The Diesel Mechanic is a skilled worker in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining all components of diesel and gasoline engine-driven heavy trucks, construction equipment, and complex hydraulic and pneumatic equipment. The 2nd shift from 3:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. Position Responsibilities: Perform repairs, including emergency repairs in the field. Inspect and direct subordinate technicians to perform repairs to all components of heavy vehicles, systems, and equipment. Conduct service road calls. Execute gas and electric welding as needed Complete equipment maintenance records. Required Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent, preferred Valid driver's license required CDL preferred Minimum 1-year experience in a mechanical role. NYSI inspector license is strongly preferred Knowledge of Cummins, Insite, JPro and Davies software Demonstrate safety-conscious behaviors. Ability to operate small hand tools, power tools, hand trucks, drill presses, grinders, conveyors, gas welding, brazing or cutting apparatus, and various other heavy equipment. Ability to work in an environment that includes exposure to wet and/or humid conditions, noise levels, and outside weather conditions. This is a good-faith estimate of what we expect to pay for this position. The final salary figure will take into account a variety of factors including experience, ability and location.
