WORK DAYS: 260 days, 12 months per year - 260 Day Work Year Calendar
Monday - Friday, 8 hours/day, 7:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
SALARY: Range 23 (24-33 w/additional skills) - salary placement from $3,856 to $6,867 monthly
Salary prorated based on start date and prior experience or additional skills.

TITLE: MAINTENANCE WORKER

JOB SUMMARY
Under general supervision, to perform general maintenance work in the alteration, repair, construction and upkeep of school buildings, facilities and miscellaneous equipment; have general knowledge of other trade areas; assist in all maintenance trade areas.
QUALIFICATIONS
a. Required:
High school graduation or its equivalent.
Two years experience in general building maintenance.
Possess appropriate California driver's license and qualify for insurability by the district's authorized insurance carrier.
Knowledge of basic methods, materials and equipment used in maintenance trades; building plans and blueprints; safe work methods, practices and procedures.
Ability to do general maintenance work; use the tools and equipment necessary in the repair of equipment and facilities; use a variety of hand and power tools, machines and equipment utilized in the building trades; maintain records and prepare reports as required; understand and carry out oral and written instructions; establish and maintain effective working relationships.
b. Desirable:
- At least one year experience as a journey level or equivalent, skilled maintenance worker in one or more of the following trades: Carpenter, Electrician, Fire Alarms, Heating/Air Conditioning, Heavy Equipment Operator, Irrigation
and Drainage, Locksmith, Painter, Plumber, Welder.
Possess valid Class A California driver's license, required for heavy equipment operation.
Knowledge of the operation, care, maintenance and safe use of motorized maintenance equipment; applicable building codes.
Ability to plan and lay out work, including estimating time and material costs; interpret and work from blueprints, schematics, sketches and shop drawings, perform general concrete work.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Plan and lay out assigned tasks.
Operate various power tools including powder actuated anchoring tool.
Observe health and safety precautions.
Work from verbal instructions, sketches, blueprints and work orders.
Order materials, parts and supplies.
Maintain and care for tools, equipment and machinery in good working condition.
Keep time, labor and material records.
Estimate amounts of materials and labor for costs.
Service maintenance equipment and make minor adjustments and repairs.
Perform a variety of preventative maintenance functions.
Assist in other maintenance areas.
Perform other duties as required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to lift/carry up to 50 pounds on a regular basis and up to 100 pounds occasionally.
Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
Ability to stand and circulate for extended periods of time.
Ability to discern colors.
Ability to work off the ground using ladders, scaffolds and/or mechanical lifts.
Ability to reach in all directions.
Ability to bend, twist, kneel, stoop and crawl.
Ability to communicate so others will clearly understand normal conversation.
Ability to hear and understand speech at normal levels.
Ability to ascend and descend steps.
Facility to see and read, with or without vision aids.
Physical dexterity in limbs and digits to operate hand and power tools and equipment commonly used in work.
Ability to work in enclosed areas.
Ability to wear a respirator.
Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
