At AdventHealth Shawnee Mission, formerly Shawnee Mission Medical Center, you'remore than just a number on a chart. The role you'll contribute:
Prepares food in compliance with guidelines and standardized recipes.
The value you'll bring to the team:
Cooks, prepares, and seasons soups, meats, vegetables, desserts, and other food items for consumption in eating establishments per standardized recipes
Reviews menu and special orders to determine type and quantity of food items to be prepared
Follows cooking schedule and ensures food is ready at specified times. Confers with Supervisor personnel regarding modified diet preparation and use of leftovers
Preparing, handling, and storing food in accordance with all governmental, sanitary, and dietary regulations as well as established policies and procedures
Responsible for keeping workspace and equipment clean and sanitary
The expertise and experiences you'll need to succeed:
Qualifications required:
Knowledge about working in the food industry
Ability to cook precisely and efficiently. Should be able to make decisions and multi-task under pressure
Must be able to read, write and speak conversational English and understand food service terms
Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)
May be required to obtain and maintain state specific certifications
Qualifications preferred:
Associates degree in Culinary Arts
One year of relevant experience
Servsafe certification
