Position Summary:
The Lead Host is responsible for managing the front-of-house host team to ensure an exceptional guest experience from the moment of arrival. This position requires strong leadership, organizational, and customer service skills to coordinate guest flow, manage reservations, and resolve issues efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
Greet and welcome guests with a warm, professional demeanor.
Supervise, train, and support host team members to ensure smooth operations.
Manage the seating chart and coordinate table assignments to optimize service flow and minimize wait times.
Maintain the reservation system and accommodate special requests when possible.
Communicate effectively with management, kitchen, and service teams to manage guest expectations and flow.
Handle guest concerns or complaints promptly and professionally.
Ensure the host stand and entrance areas are clean, organized, and presentable.
Monitor waitlists and update guests with accurate wait times.
Assist in creating staff schedules and managing shift coverage.
Uphold all company policies, procedures, and standards of service.
Qualifications:
Previous experience in hosting or customer-facing roles, preferably in a leadership capacity.
Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
Ability to stay calm and professional in high-pressure environments.
Familiarity with reservation and POS systems (e.g., OpenTable, Resy, Toast).
Flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand for long periods.
