Job Summary: The Cashier / Utility will need to be familiar with the cash register, dining room, kitchen, and all other restaurant operations and is expected to assist in maintaining the highest level of cleanliness in all areas including the restrooms. May work in, the Summit House, located at the summit of Big Mountain or the Base Lodge, located at the bottom of Chair 6.

Job specifications:
• High school graduate or GED equivalent.
• Previous food service experience preferred.
• Communication skills require that the individual can read, write & speak English.
• Personality traits should include the ability to function during times of high stress & the ability to deal fairly with customers & co-workers.
Specific Duties
• Ensure the best overall quality of the food and beverage service.
• Continually stock condiment area(s).
• Set up the service line at the start of the day’s operations per opening checklist.
• Be familiar with all cash register operations and procedures involving: over rings, complimentary ring-ups, employee discounts, Snow Sports, Ski Club, and other department charges.
• Inform supervisor or manager of any food product shortages or food spoilage.
• Ensure that restaurant tables are set properly & dining room is clean.
• Provide courteous and efficient guest service on a consistent basis.
• Bus & reset tables in dining area.
• Keep supervisor on duty informed of any problems, complaints or compliments about the restaurant or Resort.
• Inform supervisor or manager of any equipment failure or abnormal operations.
• Should maintain the highest degree of accuracy and maximum efficiency to minimize delay to the guests at the registers.
• Responsible for hourly bathroom checks & cleanings.
• At the conclusion of daily operations: clean the dining room, clean and organize the cash register, and condiment area.
• Conform to Health Department regulations and inspections.
• Responsible for overall quality of guest services and products.
• Knowledgeable of and able to implement security and safety protocols.
• Maintains and is accountable for proper cash handling procedures and POS system operations.
• Establishes and maintains appropriate and effective working relationships with internal and external guests at all levels of the organization.
• Makes safety an emphasis in all activities and duties.
• Is knowledgeable of Whitefish Mountain Resort properties and products and shares that information with guests.
• Familiar with and adheres to WSI Mountain policies, directives and guidelines.
• Subject to WSI’s Alcohol and Controlled Substance Abuse Policy based on the nature of the position and related duties.
Work Environment:
• Moderate physical activity required by handling objects up to 10 pounds frequently and 50 pounds occasionally.
• Ability to be on one’s feet for extended time periods up to 8 hours daily.
• Requires moderate physical activity to include constant bending, stooping, lifting, climbing stairs and stretching on a frequent basis.
• Requires use of approved chemical cleaning agents on a daily basis. Cleaning supplies may require use of potentially hazardous chemicals. Proper training of the use of these chemicals will be provided and material safety data sheets will be available for each chemical used in the workplace.
• Flexibility in schedule changes on short notice is required.
• Working at the Summit House will require traveling on the chair lift / gondola.
• Ability to travel work (to Summit House) under varying weather conditions, often extreme in nature.
• Job may require working weekends, holidays and overtime during peak demand times.
• Non-smoking environment.
Safety & Wellness:
All team members must be on constant alert for any unsafe conditions and work behaviors. This will involve, but not be limited to, periodic inspections of work and public areas. Follow up notification will be done to correct the condition or practice at the earliest possible opportunity
