Job Details Led by the team behind Dear John's- two veteran LA Chefs, Hans Rockenwagner and Josiah Citrin- we are looking to hire at our new restaurant in Marina Del Rey, Dear Jane's. We are looking to fill positions for cooks, both prep and line cooks, at our new location. Dear Jane's is the sister restaurant to the iconic Culver City restaurant with a focus on seafood. This will be an exciting opportunity to join our new team for one of the hottest new restaurants across the country. We are looking for motivated culinary professionals capable of supporting a dynamic chef-driven restaurant in Los Angeles.

We are looking to hire a Sous Chef/ Jr. Sous Chef

JUNIOR SOUS CHEF
- Assist with the planning, preparation, and production of the menu according to recipe and presentation standards
- Prepping assigned items associated with the correct station; ensuring freshness of ingredients; labeling prepped ingredients with the name of item, date and time prepped, and initials or preparer
- Manage kitchen team members including but not limited to training, scheduling, and performance management
- Occasionally assist with food purchasing duties including but not limited to ordering, storage, usage, rotation, and inventory
- Minimize and control costs by reviewing portion control and quantities of preparation; minimizing waste; ensuring high quality of preparation
- Making periodic and regular inspections of the kitchen to observe the quality of food preparation, production, storage, food appearance, and cleanliness and sanitation of production and service areas, equipment and team member appearance
- Creating a positive team atmosphere among team members that encourages accountability and achieves the highest standards of food, beverage, service, and hospitality
- Ability to lead with commitment and passion
