Located in the heart of San Franciscos historic Jackson Square neighborhood, Verjus is the newest destination from Michael and Lindsay Tusk, Inspired by the bistros and caves a manger of Paris, Verjus introduces a new style of dining to San Franciscos gastronomic landscape.. This will be an accessible, informal, at times raucous drinking and dining experience.
The wine program with a focus on independent vignerons who farm their land organically and produce wines that emphasize a sense of place.
Housed in the historic Eclipse Champagne Building dating back to the 1850s San Franciscos Gold Rush and Barbary Coast eras the Verjus property has a storied and fitting past for a cave a manger. The space will feature a mix of vintage, antique, and contemporary elements, united by their authenticity and craftsmanship
SUMMARY OF POSITION:
The Host is responsible for coordinating and managing all reservations, seating's , guest assistance, and the flow of guests in and out of the restaurant.
RESPONSIBILITY AND SPAN OF AUTHORITY:
- Responsible for greeting all guest in a warm, friendly and welcoming manner.
- Accurately record reservations and do everything possible to accommodate guest needs.
- Maintain a clean, sanitary and safe work environment. Keep all service stations/areas clean and organized at all times.
- Responsible for the general cleanliness and stocking of guest restrooms.
- Report any and all issues that arise with guests to a member of management in a timely fashion.
- Confirm all outstanding reservations on a daily basis.
- Have a working daily knowledge of the menu.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES
- Restaurant experience
- At least 1 year in a host/maitre d' position
- Experience working with reservation software
- Strong communication and multitasking skills
