This is an opportunity to hone your skills and take part in shaping a new, exciting culinary destination in Los Angeles and work in an environment that values teamwork and innovation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee designated stations and take responsibility for all items produced, ensuring consistency and quality at all times.
- Collaborate with BOH staff to maintain food quality and uphold kitchen standards.
- Lead and supervise your station, helping with their development and assigning recipes and prep work.
- Serve guests alongside the front of house team while keeping a high standard of service and awareness in the dining room.
- Work directly with the Chef and Sous Chefs to ensure smooth operations, adapt to menu changes, and follow instructions accurately and efficiently.
- Take initiative in assisting other kitchen areas when needed, demonstrating flexibility and team spirit.
- Manage stock and supplies for your station , ensuring proper stock rotation and minimizing waste.
- Oversee staff meal production from your station with the same level of quality.
- Follow health and safety standards as set by the health department, including proper labeling, time, and temperature controls.
- Maintain open communication with the FOH team to ensure seamless service.
- Strive for self-improvement by incorporating feedback from chefs and staying updated on industry trends and best practices.
Requirements:
- 2+ years of experience as a chef, or in a related role within a fine dining kitchen.
- Demonstrate an unparalleled commitment to your craft and passion for culinary excellence.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and follow direction accurately.
- Ability to both cook, plate, serve and interact with guests.
- Ability to pivot priorities quickly in a high-pressure environment.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- A commitment to upholding high standards of cleanliness and operation.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work on your feet for at least 8 hours .
- Ability to move, pull, or lift at least 50 pounds .
