Job Summary:
Arlo Williamsburg is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Banquet Captain to join our team. The Banquet Captain will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating all aspects of banquets and events, ensuring exceptional service and guest satisfaction. This position requires strong leadership skills, excellent communication and organizational abilities, and a keen attention to detail. The Banquet Captain will work closely with the Banquet Manager and the rest of the management team to ensure a successful and memorable event for our guests.
Compensation & Benefits:
This is a full-time, salaried position with a compensation rate of $45 per hour. Pay will be distributed on a weekly basis. Our company offers a competitive benefits package, including health insurance, paid time off, and opportunities for career advancement.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise and train banquet staff, ensuring they adhere to company policies and provide exceptional service to guests
- Set up and break down banquet events, ensuring all equipment and decor is in place and properly arranged
- Communicate with clients and event planners to understand their needs and make necessary arrangements
- Ensure all food and beverage orders are prepared and served timely and accurately
- Oversee the cleanliness and organization of the banquet space and ensure all health and safety standards are met
- Act as a liaison between the kitchen and front of house staff, communicating any changes or needs during events
- Handle any guest complaints while maintaining a professional and calm demeanor
- Assist with inventory, ordering, and maintaining par levels of banquet supplies
- Assist in creating and executing banquet event orders, including floor plans, timelines, and special requests
- Uphold company standards of quality, appearance, and guest service at all times
- Participate in ongoing training and development programs to continually improve skills and knowledge
- Other duties as assigned by the Banquet Manager or management team
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a Banquet Captain or in a similar role within the hospitality industry
- Extensive knowledge of banquet service standards, food and beverage, and event setups
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively train and motivate a team
- Excellent time-management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple events simultaneously
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and event planning software
- Must have a valid food handler's and alcohol service certification
- Must be able to stand, walk, and lift for extended periods of time
