Position Overview

Provide maintenance services for seasonal equipment and all equipment for plant production and processing to accomplish established production requirements.

Job Responsibilities

Responsible for production and processing equipment, refrigeration, boiler room, waste plant, building maintenance, seasonal preparation, and gas wells.

Develops familiarity with the maintenance requirement of plant processing, production and seasonal operations through a thorough and continuing evaluation of production, processing and seasonal requirements, techniques, procedures, facilities and equipment. Maintains constant contact with production and processing supervision.

Train mechanics in the proper set-up, adjustment, and maintenance of production, processing and seasonal support equipment and supervise them in the accomplishment of maintenance requirements of this equipment.

Establishes daily objectives for crew and daily evaluates the extent to which these objectives are being met. Periodically reviews the performance of each maintenance person under supervision and conducts personal interviews to review and improve performance.

Supervises the mechanics in the accomplishment of preventive maintenance programs and suggests modifications to the Maintenance Manager for approval.

Recommends and initiates changes to improve equipment operating performance, performs job estimates, work scheduling and budget control.

Assures that maintenance operations are carrier out within established housekeeping and sanitation procedures, and applicable government regulations.

Participates in all regular meetings as directed.

Job Requirements

Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively present to other maintenance technicians, operators, and supervisors.

Experience in food manufacturing desired. Knowledge of Lean or Six Sigma a plus.

Strong problem solving and analytical skills with prior experience working effectively in a demanding, fast paced environment.

Proactive and able to work independently

Minimum Qualifications:

Associates degree in a technical discipline related to machine maintenance and repair preferred, Journeyperson certification preferred.

Minimum of four years related, applicable experience with machine maintenance and repair in the food and beverage manufacturing industry.
